Professional Learning is an integral aspect of the EXCEED grant. To promote a common understanding of the Marzano Causal Teacher Evaluation Model©, Learning Sciences International (LSI) is providing a 4-day professional learning series to FAU Teaching and Learning faculty, university supervisors and school district clinical educators.
The new learning will assist the FAU faculty in implementing enhancements to the elementary education coursework by providing improved connections to school district expectations. The learning will also be used as a basis for feedback and observations to evaluate elementary education students in practicum coursework and student teaching.
The New Teacher Center (NTC) professional learning series is comprised of 4 days of development beginning in August and commences in February. The professional learning for clinical educators and university supervisors is designed to improve feedback to student teachers and provide improved support for the implementation of the Florida Standards.
Participants will gain knowledge and access to valuable mentoring protocols, planning and analysis of student work tools with the goal of accelerating the student teachers’ practice.
